Introduction
How Does Google Optimize Work?
All three types of tests are essentially variants of the A/B test, differing in complexity. The Redirect test redirects to two different URLs, which is useful if you are testing many elements at once. A multivariate test is used for testing multiple variations of multiple elements. This is a complex way of testing where you are looking to see which combination yields the best results.Google Tool = Easy to Implement
Since Optimize comes from Google, it offers a number of advantages over competing tools. Setup and implementation are very simple, just insert the generated code into your website header. Of course, it is easy to integrate with other tools such as Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager. Data from Google Analytics can go both ways - you can see the results from Optimize in Analytics, and conversely, you can use existing data from Analytics in a new test in Optimize.
Google Optimize also offers a live preview of the A/B test. For each change, just generate a link and you can see and test the new version of the page in action - no more screenshots!
But unfortunately Google has decided to shut down Google Optimize as of September 30, 2023. More on: Google Optimize Sunset.
